Abe, a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC), made these allegations during a meeting with his supporters at his Freedom House office in Port Harcourt on Wednesday. He recounted an incident where Amaechi allegedly visited his home and cautioned him against pursuing the governorship, suggesting it would cause division within the party.
“Amaechi declared that our rebellion would not last more than six months, predicting that we would all eventually go hungry and return to him,” Abe said. “It has been over six years now, and we have not only survived but have made significant impacts. They have fled the party, leaving us to rebuild and move forward.”
Abe urged his supporters to rejoin the APC in Rivers State to back President Bola Tinubu’s administration and to support the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, who is collaborating with the APC government.
