The recently married woman recounted that she became pregnant shortly after their wedding, and as her delivery date drew near, she began experiencing severe pain and breathlessness. Consequently, she was admitted to the hospital, where medical professionals advised that she undergo a cesarean section (CS).
Despite this recommendation, she claimed her husband objected and instructed the doctors to discharge her. Upon returning home, he allegedly procured herbal concoctions for her, urging her to consume them in an attempt to facilitate a natural birth.
However, her pain worsened after ingesting the concoction, prompting an urgent return to the hospital for the necessary surgery. Turning to social media platform Facebook, she pleaded for assistance, and a compassionate Nigerian responded by sending her N500,000.
Reportedly, she entrusted a portion of the funds to her husband for the surgery’s payment. Yet, when the time for the procedure arrived, he was conspicuously absent. Consequently, she entrusted the remaining sum to her sister-in-law, ensuring the surgery proceeded as planned.
Following the surgery, her husband reappeared, only to face the ire of his sister, who allegedly threatened legal action. It was then disclosed that he had utilized the money intended for his wife’s medical expenses to purchase a phone and a pet dog.
Subsequently, the woman asserted that her spouse abandoned her while she remained in a fragile state, with their newborn child still hospitalized. Moreover, she disclosed ongoing health concerns, including swelling in her legs, exacerbated by the financial strain of medical bills.
In an effort to validate her account, she provided corroborating details, leading to an outpouring of support from empathetic Nigerians who have rallied to her aid.
