Stewardship is simply the act of leading, supervising, or managing something, particularly the careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one’s care.

Political stewardship entails the proper management of the resources entrusted to one’s care by the people. It is critical that elected political officials maintain the trust bestowed upon them by the people.

Nigerians have flocked to applaud Hon Dennis Idahosa, the lawmaker representing Ovia Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, for his outstanding performance despite the fact that it is election season.

The lawmaker, they say, is unique in that he is unaffected by the rigours of campaigns, instead commissioning project after project to the admiration of all. They see him as a representative who has done well for his people and as such deserves commendation from everyone, regardless of where one comes from or which political party they belong to.
