Furthermore, the Chairman extended the state of emergency to the health and education sectors. He personally visited over 20 hospitals and healthcare centers, instructing staff to prioritize treatment and ensuring the procurement of essential drugs and medical supplies to meet the needs of the community. Collaborating with the Borno State Contributory Health Care Management Agency (BOCHMA), the administration is committed to achieving universal health coverage.
In the education sphere, the Chairman has been actively involved, making unscheduled visits to schools and even engaging in teaching sessions with students. Renovation efforts have been initiated to address infrastructure damage, including repairing classroom roofs affected by adverse weather conditions.
Acknowledging the crucial support from Governor Babagana Zulum, the council has allocated substantial funds for various repair projects, including generators and boreholes in different wards. The Chairman emphasized the paramount importance of water provision, citing it as essential for life, and highlighted efforts to enhance livestock and fish farming through the repair of cement wells and ponds.
Additionally, infrastructure improvements extend to the Chairman’s quarters, with connections to the national grid and ongoing renovations of educational facilities. Logistical support has been provided to the West African Examination Council (WAEC) office in Hawul, underscoring the commitment to educational development.
Malgwi reassured the community of the administration’s dedication to enhancing living standards and urged patience and support as they work towards achieving these goals. Collaborative efforts with state and federal authorities are underway to provide timely agricultural inputs, such as fertilizers, to support local farmers before the onset of the rainy season
