The daring abduction took place on Thursday, May 9, when armed assailants stormed the university premises, disrupting the peace and snatching away a yet unspecified number of students who were preparing for their upcoming examinations.

The Kogi State Government swiftly mobilized rescue efforts in conjunction with its counterpart in Kwara State to secure the release of the abducted students.

Following intense operations, which involved coordinated efforts from various security agencies and local vigilantes, the joint task force successfully located and rescued the eight students from a forest in Kwara State.
