“We received credible information about illegal alcohol production at Oko-Arin Market. Our CP’s tactical team swiftly responded, arresting Ogujiofor Emeka, 41, and Desmond Chima, 31, on the spot while others managed to flee,” said Hundeyin.
During the operation, law enforcement recovered several cartons of various brands of suspected adulterated alcoholic drinks and other production-related materials.
Hundeyin further stated, “Recovered items include five cartons of Jack Daniels, two cartons of black barrel drink, one carton each of Williams Lawson, Jameson, Black Label, and Remmy Martins, as well as six cartons of empty Glenfiddich bottles, and assorted labels and corks.”
He emphasized that preliminary investigations revealed the suspects’ involvement in supplying illicit alcohol to their clients in Cotonou, Benin Republic, and that the investigation remains ongoing.
