“He didn’t show signs of mental stress but mentioned personal issues troubling him. He often sought financial assistance from fellow teachers,” Mr. Onkundi remarked.
Another educator informed the Daily Nation that Omwenga frequently borrowed money, assuring repayment “soon.”
“Recently, Omwenga borrowed money from me. He outlined a repayment plan in small installments until the debt was cleared,” the teacher, who chose to remain anonymous, disclosed.
“I last spoke with him on Tuesday. I am deeply shocked and saddened to hear about his death and the circumstances surrounding it. I cannot definitively say he took his own life; that’s for the police to investigate and report on.
