The incident occurred at an unspecified location along the route, triggering confusion and anxiety among relatives of the passengers who are desperately seeking information about their loved ones’ safety and whereabouts.

Aishat Ado, a concerned relative, recounted receiving a call from her sister who reported the derailment but was unable to provide her exact location before the call was abruptly cut off. Despite repeated attempts to reach her sister, the phone remained unresponsive.

The Nigeria Railway Corporation’s spokesperson, Yakub Mahmood, declined immediate comment, stating that an official statement would be issued later in the day. When pressed for information regarding the passengers’ well-being, Mahmood urged patience pending the release of the official statement.
