First Bank of Nigeria Limited has officially appointed Olusegun Alebiosu as its new Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This announcement was made in a notice to the Nigerian Exchange Group by the company’s Secretary, Adewale Arogundade. Alebiosu had been serving as the acting Managing Director since April 2024, following the resignation of Adesola Adeduntan. His confirmation as MD and CEO is pending approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

In addition to Alebiosu’s appointment, First Bank also named Ini Ebong as the Deputy Managing Director (DMD) and Alao Olatunde-Olaifa as a Non-Executive Director. These appointments are likewise subject to CBN’s approval.

Alebiosu brings extensive experience to his new role, having previously held positions such as Executive Director, Chief Risk Officer, and Executive Compliance Officer within the bank. With over 28 years in the banking and financial services sector, he has expertise in credit risk management, financial planning and control, corporate and commercial banking, and various specialized areas including agriculture financing and project financing.

Ebong, who was previously the Executive Director of Treasury and International Banking at First Bank, contributes over 20 years of banking experience to the Executive Management team.

Olatunde-Olaifa, currently the Group Financial Officer of Leadway Holdings, joins the Board with a wealth of experience in corporate finance, encompassing capital raising, debt restructuring, acquisition planning, project financing, and asset management.
