All Eyes On Zamfara: Shettima’s Visit Sparks High-Stakes APC Reception For Lawal

Vice President Kashim Shettima is expected to visit Zamfara State on Tuesday as the All Progressives Congress (APC) finalises plans to formally welcome Governor Dauda Lawal into the party.

The state APC Chairman, Tukur Danfulani Maikatako, made this known during a stakeholders’ meeting held at the party’s secretariat in Gusau on Saturday. He described the governor’s defection as a positive development, noting that the APC has always remained a political home for him.

Maikatako explained that the Vice President, alongside top party leaders, would attend a grand reception in honour of the governor. He called on party members across all wards and local government areas to come out in large numbers, stressing that the event is important for boosting the party’s strength ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He also urged members to put aside internal disagreements and embrace unity, describing the party as one family with shared goals. Similarly, former state APC chairman, Lawali Liman, encouraged members to spread the message of unity at the grassroots level, emphasising the need for collective effort to strengthen the party and secure future electoral victories.
