Okorie explained that the message was mainly intended for Mercy Johnson and her household. She revealed that over the years, conflicts in the film industry were often fueled by third parties who spread misinformation about statements allegedly made by either party. These misunderstandings led to arguments, tension, and public disputes, but she emphasized that she no longer wishes to engage in such conflicts.
She expressed regret for any hurt her words or social media posts may have caused whenever Mercy Johnson’s name came up. Okorie cleared Johnson of negative labels that had circulated and insisted her apology was genuine and heartfelt.
Okorie also highlighted the importance of their children, noting that the future is unpredictable and their kids could meet anywhere in the world and become close friends. She stressed that parents should not allow personal disagreements to affect their children’s lives and condemned any form of bullying directed at Johnson’s children, particularly in school.
Extending her apology further, Okorie asked forgiveness from anyone she may have offended, whether intentionally or unintentionally. She described herself as a peaceful person who seeks harmony and stated her intention to make peace with everyone.
The actress revealed that she and Mercy Johnson had already spoken privately, settled their differences, and exchanged apologies, which were mutually accepted. She described the moment as a fresh start in their relationship, promising to no longer rely on rumors but to reach out directly if any issues arise.
Okorie concluded by affirming that she holds no grudge against Mercy Johnson, expressed love for her, and offered prayers for her continued success.
She said in the video:
“Hi everybody, this is your one and only Legit Queen. I want to thank all my fans around the world for their massive love. I am not perfect, yes, I am not.
This video is specifically for Mercy, her kids, and her family.
Over the years in the industry, people have told me that Mercy said this or that, and it caused quarrels and chaos. At this stage, I don’t want that anymore.
I apologize for any words or posts that may have hurt you. You are not a witch; you are not what people have called you. I am deeply sorry.
Our kids may meet anywhere in the world and become friends. We, as mothers, cannot prevent that. I also condemn bullying against Mercy’s kids in school; if it happened to my child, I wouldn’t allow it.
This is a new beginning. Mercy, you are my friend and always will be. I will no longer listen to rumors. If there is an issue, I will call you directly.
God knows I bear you no ill will. I love you and pray for your success.”
The apology comes days after reports that Okorie was arrested in Lagos by the State Criminal Investigation Department over allegations related to cyberstalking, threats, and harassment. She was later granted bail of ₦5 million.
