Angela Okorie Back Behind Bars: Fresh Arrest Rocks Nollywood

Officers of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have rearrested Nollywood actress Angela Okorie shortly after her release from the Suleja Correctional Centre.

The move came just hours after actor Stanley Ontop warned of a possible plan to rearrest her following her release.

In an Instagram video, actress Doris Ogala explained that Angela was taken back into custody on Tuesday for allegedly refusing to pay the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) who facilitated her bail.

Doris, who said she was heading to the police station, stated:
“You see, one thing is for someone to cut their clothes according to their size. Angela has been arrested again. I’m going to the police station now. When Angela was first arrested by Mercy, she called a friend or someone from her village—I don’t know their exact connection—to help get a SAN.

“The SAN charged them N5 million and was reportedly the one who arranged her bail. But Angela allegedly refused to pay the amount, saying she didn’t request the SAN and wouldn’t be paying, even though the lady had already deposited the money.”

Angela was initially arrested on January 26 in Lagos and transferred to Abuja, where she was arraigned before the Federal High Court on charges of cyberstalking and cyberbullying.

The case followed a petition filed against her by fellow actress Mercy Johnson Okojie.
