Anthony Joshua Crash Case: Driver Finally Faces Court Over Fatal Accident
The Ogun State Police Command has announced that Adeniyi Kayode, the driver of the Lexus SUV involved in the fatal crash that led to the deaths of two associates of boxing star Anthony Joshua, has been arraigned in court.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The 46-year-old was brought before a Magistrate Court in Sagamu, Ogun State, on Friday. The development was made public through a short statement issued by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi.
According to the police, the case has been adjourned until January 20, 2026, for continuation of hearing. However, details of the charges filed against the driver and further information surrounding the incident were not disclosed.
In the statement, the police said: “The Ogun State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that the driver of the Lexus SUV involved in the Anthony Joshua accident case, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode (male), aged 46, was charged to the Sagamu Magistrate Court today, 2nd January, 2026, and the matter has been adjourned to 20th January, 2026.”
The arraignment follows Kayode’s earlier arrest after the tragic accident on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, which claimed the lives of two members of Joshua’s entourage. The police had earlier confirmed that the driver was in custody, adding that investigations into the incident were ongoing.
