The power disruption began on Sunday evening and had not been resolved as of Thursday morning when this report was compiled. Although no official statement from the EEDC in Umuahia has addressed the issue, some company representatives, who preferred to remain anonymous, attributed the outage to a “system failure.”

This situation has inflicted severe hardships on the inhabitants of Amuzukwu, a densely populated locality in the town.
