The ruling party also accused the ADC of promoting conspiracy theories, particularly claims that the APC is working to destabilise it.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, described the ADC’s current situation as self-inflicted.

Morka characterised the party as being plagued by confusion and desperation, adding that its internal issues were the result of its own actions.

He attributed the crisis to what he described as a breach of the party’s constitutional procedures by a faction led by David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola, which allegedly assumed control of the party’s leadership.

He further argued that the ADC’s challenges stem from poor internal decisions and ineffective leadership.

The APC also defended the actions of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in withdrawing recognition of the faction led by Mark, stating that the decision was in line with legal provisions and relevant court rulings.

According to Morka, the development is a direct outcome of the ADC’s handling of its internal affairs.

He criticised the opposition party for failing to take responsibility for its disputes, adding that any party unable to manage its internal structure cannot effectively govern a country.

Morka also accused the ADC of focusing more on attacking the APC than presenting meaningful policies or alternatives.

Despite the criticism, he maintained that the APC and the administration of Bola Tinubu remain committed to advancing the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, strengthening democratic institutions, and promoting unity and development across the country.
