Talks between both camps have resumed after several failed attempts to arrange the bout. Usyk, who has faced and beaten both fighters twice, said his recent time training alongside Joshua has convinced him the former champion is ready for a strong comeback.

Joshua has been working out in Spain with Usyk as he continues his recovery following a December car accident that claimed the lives of two of his close friends. Although he sustained minor injuries, he has since returned to structured training.

Speaking to The Independent, Usyk praised Joshua’s work ethic, describing his performance in camp as intense and focused.

He also called on fans to continue supporting Joshua during what he described as a difficult phase in his career, stressing the importance of loyalty even during setbacks. Drawing from his own experience as a long-time supporter of Dynamo Kyiv, Usyk said true fans stand by their athletes regardless of losses.

Usyk noted that while Joshua is close to returning fully to action, he still needs a bit more time to regain peak condition following the accident.

Meanwhile, promoter Eddie Hearn indicated that Joshua is expected to take at least one more fight before a potential showdown with Fury. He added that Joshua will likely continue training alongside Usyk for his upcoming bouts.

Usyk himself is preparing for a major fight, as he is set to face kickboxing star Rico Verhoeven on May 23 in front of the Pyramids of Giza, with the World Boxing Council heavyweight title on the line.
