Breaking: Abike Dabiri-Erewa Targeted In Email Hacking Incident

The personal email account of the Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (Nigerians in Diaspora Commission), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has been hacked by unknown cybercriminals.

Dabiri-Erewa raised the alarm via her official (formerly Twitter) handle, warning the public to ignore any messages sent from the compromised email.

She specifically cautioned that any communication coming from the email address aodabiri@yahoo.com, or any other suspicious variation, should be disregarded until full control of the account is regained.

The NiDCOM boss also appealed for patience from colleagues and the public, noting that the breach has temporarily disrupted her ability to manage both official and personal correspondence.

She assured that steps are already being taken to secure the account and restore normal service.

In her words, “Please be informed that my email account (aodabiri@yahoo.com) has been compromised by hackers.

Kindly ignore any emails purportedly sent from me using this or any other address until I regain full control of the account. I will unfortunately not be able to respond to the thousands of emails that must have accumulated during this period.”

Meanwhile, Dabiri-Erewa recently expressed sorrow over the tragic death of Nihinloluwa Agoro and her two children, Temiloluwa and Isaac, who died in a road accident in Fort Bend County, Texas, United States.

The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday, March 15, 2026, while the family was on their way to church.

In a statement released through the Commission’s Head of Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, she described the loss as devastating and deeply painful, especially as it happened during a routine family trip.

She extended condolences to the bereaved family, prayed for the repose of the deceased, and asked for strength for those left behind.

Dabiri-Erewa also wished a quick recovery for anyone injured in the crash and urged motorists to exercise caution to prevent similar tragedies.
