Chelsea winger Estevao Willian has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after sustaining a hamstring injury, raising concerns over his availability for Brazil’s squad at the upcoming World Cup.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The 18-year-old picked up the injury during Chelsea’s 1-0 loss to Manchester United on Saturday, pulling up in discomfort and immediately signalling for medical attention. Subsequent scans confirmed a hamstring strain serious enough to end his debut season at Stamford Bridge prematurely.

The timing of the setback is particularly significant for both club and country. Estevao has featured regularly in Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil plans ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America, but his chances of making the final squad are now uncertain as selections approach.

Reports from sources close to the player suggest he is expected to recover in time for the tournament. However, there are doubts over whether Ancelotti will include him if he does not have enough match fitness before the group stage begins.

Brazil are scheduled to begin their World Cup campaign against Morocco on June 13.

Estevao was reportedly emotional as he left the pitch against Manchester United, with Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior describing the moment as heartbreaking for the young forward.

“He was devastated,” Rosenior said. “He was crying at half-time. I’m really devastated for him.”

This latest injury is the second hamstring issue Estevao has suffered this season, raising further concerns about his durability. Chelsea are also dealing with several other injury setbacks, including captain Reece James, forward Cole Palmer, and youngster Jamie Gittens.

Despite the disruption, Estevao has enjoyed a promising first season in England, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in 36 appearances.

Chelsea signed him from Palmeiras in the summer for an initial £29 million, with the deal potentially rising to £51 million with add-ons.
