Breaking: Plateau Governor Caleb Mutfwang Defects From PDP To APC

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The announcement was made on Thursday night by APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, during the party’s 14th National Caucus meeting at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja.

Yilwatda noted that Mutfwang’s defection means the North Central geopolitical zone is now fully governed by APC members.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside other top government officials and party leaders, attended the caucus meeting. He arrived at around 7:41 p.m., accompanied by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Nigeria Governors’ Forum Chairman and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and Progressive Governors’ Forum Chairman, Imo State Governor Senator Hope Uzodinma.

Also in attendance were key dignitaries including Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, APC governors, members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), and principal officers of the National Assembly.

Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and governors who recently switched from PDP to APC were present, including Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri, Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and Taraba State Governor Kefas Agbu.

Additionally, former Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige, attended the APC caucus meeting, further highlighting the continued realignment of political figures within the ruling party.
