Breaking: Police Launch Strategic Move In Kaduna, Secure Release Of 7 Victims

The Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, has directed the Deputy Inspector-General of Police (Operations), Shehu Umar Nadada, to relocate to Kaduna State following the recent attack on Ariku village.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Anthony Placid, Nadada has been tasked with leading and coordinating security operations aimed at restoring order and ensuring the safe release of abducted victims.
The statement noted that the DIG would work closely with the Nigerian Army and the Department of State Services (DSS) to strengthen rescue efforts.
Police authorities confirmed that seven of the kidnapped victims have already been rescued and are currently receiving medical treatment before being reunited with their families.
The directive followed an attack on April 5, 2026, when armed bandits reportedly stormed ECWA and Catholic churches in the community, opened fire, killed several people, and abducted others.
In response, the police leadership ordered an immediate security operation, with the deployed team successfully securing the release of some victims, who were taken to a hospital for treatment and are said to be in stable condition.
The Inspector-General also assured that operations are ongoing to rescue the remaining victims and bring those responsible to justice, while urging the public to remain alert and support security agencies with useful information.
