Breaking: Senator Abbo Quits ADC Amid Growing Party Turmoil

Former federal lawmaker, Senator Ishaku Abbo, has announced his exit from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and is expected to reveal his new political platform later this week.
The former senator representing Adamawa North made this known on Monday morning, attributing his decision to the worsening crisis within the ADC in Adamawa State.
His departure comes less than 48 hours after supporters of Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, popularly known as Binani, also pulled out of the party.
The development highlights deepening divisions within the ADC in the state, following a mass resignation by a faction loyal to Binani.
The group’s decision was outlined in a communiqué issued after a stakeholders’ meeting held at the residence of Hon. Mijiyewa Umaru Kugama.
Members of the group, drawn from the three senatorial zones in Adamawa, accused the party leadership of eroding internal democracy and disregarding the rule of law.
“The actions of the party leadership have destroyed internal democracy, undermined the rule of law, and rendered the party structure in Adamawa State illegitimate and unacceptable,” the communiqué read.
The ongoing crisis is largely linked to the recently conducted party congresses, which the stakeholders described as deeply flawed.
