Tinubu made the remarks on Thursday when he received a delegation of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors led by Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, at the State House in Abuja.

According to him, his relationship with Buhari’s administration was so closely aligned that he views both as part of a continuous leadership journey.

He said, “I didn’t have to look back on the economy because the truth is, I took over from myself. The late Buhari was me. He was my partner. And if I took over from him, is that not from me? So, if something is wrong, fine. Live with it, correct it, move on.”

The President added that his government is working to dismantle long-standing economic and political structures he says have hindered national prosperity.

He acknowledged that the reform process may be difficult but insisted it would eventually produce positive results for Nigerians.

Tinubu also urged members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to intensify grassroots engagement and public sensitisation efforts.

He said they represent “the conscience of a nation determined to overcome poverty and hopelessness,” and encouraged them to help drive public support for ongoing reforms.

Reaffirming his commitment to democratic governance, Tinubu stressed respect for the rule of law, judicial independence, and citizens’ rights.

He added that national development can only be achieved through a shared vision focused on inclusive growth, youth empowerment, and national unity, while cautioning against misinformation from opposition voices.
