Controversy Looms As Fayose Pays Courtesy Visit To Olubadan (Video)

Fayose arrived at the monarch’s home at about 4:50 pm.

The visit comes amid ongoing allegations that Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, is planning to remove Oba Ladoja as the Olubadan of Ibadanland.

There have also been counter-allegations that the Olubadan is involved in moves to impeach Governor Makinde, claims which the monarch has denied.

After the meeting, Fayose told journalists that Governor Makinde has adopted what he described as a domineering style of leadership, adding that political power is temporary.

“Everything in life is a matter of time. You might have your time today and another person would have his time tomorrow. All I am saying is that Governor Makinde should tread softly. You don’t have to be a Governor and be a lord. You are a Governor to serve the people,” he said.

Fayose also reiterated his claim that Makinde is allegedly working on a plan to remove the Olubadan.

“Let me say it again, Makinde, the current governor of Oyo State, has an agenda to remove the Olubadan of Ibadanland, whether it will happen or not is another story,” he added.

Recall that Fayose had earlier made similar allegations, including claims that the process would begin with official queries against the monarch over his alleged absence at a recent coronation ceremony.

He also suggested that there is an ongoing rift between Governor Makinde and Oba Ladoja, and alleged that the monarch may be accused of political bias, claims that have continued to generate controversy.
