In a statement issued by his Special Assistant, Ahmed Isa Kashere, Goje reacted to the viral card, describing it as fake and the work of individuals attempting to damage his reputation.
He alleged that the move was orchestrated by detractors seeking to misrepresent him and create a false impression of defection.
Goje reaffirmed his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), noting that he remains a committed founding member dedicated to advancing the party’s ideals both in Gombe State and across the country.
He stressed that since helping to establish the APC in 2013, he has never considered joining another party, stating that he would not abandon what he helped build because of what he described as baseless attacks and blackmail.
The former governor also expressed strong support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, referring to him as a national leader, and pledged to work tirelessly to secure electoral victory for him in Gombe State in the next election.
The statement further claimed that the alleged fake membership card was a last-ditch effort by opponents after failing to turn constituents against him. It added that attempts to rally opposition within parts of Gombe Central were unsuccessful, as residents instead reaffirmed their support for Goje’s continued representation in the Senate.
Reiterating his stance, Goje emphasized that he remains firmly rooted in the APC, dismissing the allegations as cheap political tactics that will not weaken his support base in Gombe State.
