Dele Momodu, former Director of Strategic Communications for the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign, has denied accusations that he owes ₦380,000 to Black Diamond Kitchen for services rendered during the 2022 elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The allegation was made in a video shared on X by Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike. In the video, a staff member of the catering company, Ifeoma Obu, claimed Momodu engaged their services to provide small chops and waiters at a campaign event in Abuja but failed to make payment.

Obu stated:

“My name is Ifeoma Obu, a staff of Black Diamond Kitchen. In 2022, Dele Momodu contacted us to supply Small Chops for a political event, which we delivered. To date, we’ve received no payment. My boss asked me to speak out, and I’ll be grateful if this debt is cleared.”

Lere Olayinka added that unpaid debts like this have led to the collapse of the business, owned by Samson Ayinde, and forced Obu to relocate to her village. He revealed that he personally paid ₦200,000 of the alleged ₦380,000 debt and gave Momodu a one-week deadline to settle the remaining ₦180,000, or he would cover it himself.

Confirming the claims, the business owner said all efforts to recover the money had failed:

“It was agreement-based. We provided the service, and nothing was paid. We eventually gave up. A good Samaritan later paid part of the amount. I’m very grateful.”

In response, Dele Momodu firmly rejected the claims, calling them baseless and defamatory.

“I have never heard of or been to any Black Diamond Kitchen in Abuja. If they believe I owe them, they should take legal action. This is just an attempt to scandalize my name,” he said.

Momodu dismissed the accuser as “mentally unstable” and expressed disbelief over the idea of him, a presidential campaign director, owing such a sum.

“Saying I owe ₦380,000 is an insult. I had my own staff and never contracted unknown individuals. This is ridiculous.”
