Edochie Warns Otti: “Only Those With Skeletons In Their Closet Should Join APC

Veteran Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has reacted to circulating rumours suggesting that Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, may leave the Labour Party (LP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Posting on her Instagram page, Edochie admitted feeling disappointed when the news began spreading. She recalled that Otti first emerged under the LP as a symbol of hope, representing a new approach to governance that prioritized service, principles, and competence over political expediency.

The actress acknowledged that the potential defection has sparked mixed reactions among Abia residents, noting that practical considerations could influence such a decision. Aligning with the federal government, she suggested, might lead to increased development, infrastructure projects, and greater federal attention for the state.

Edochie stated that if the move genuinely benefits the people of Abia, it could be understood as a strategic decision. She wrote:

“If you don’t have any skeletons in your cupboards, remain in your party. I felt partially disappointed when the rumours flooded every corner that Alex Otti was about to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC). I thought to myself, truly good things don’t last, and this news seems to confirm it.
