She passed away on Friday in Cairo, Egypt, where she had been receiving medical care. Her burial took place on Sunday at Gudu Cemetery after funeral prayers were held in accordance with Islamic rites.
Photos circulating online captured the solemn moment, showing the former governor surrounded by political associates, including members of the African Democratic Congress and other prominent figures.
The funeral prayer was attended by top government officials and dignitaries, including current and former governors, as well as leaders from opposition parties.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar also attended the Janazah prayer and expressed his condolences in a social media post, praying for the repose of her soul and comfort for the family.
Other notable attendees included National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Governor Uba Sani, Governor Babagana Zulum, Governor Abdullahi Bago, former Governor Peter Obi, business mogul Aliko Dangote, Senator Aminu Tambuwal, former Minister Isa Pantami, and many others.
