He explained that his role in the administration began as head of the Presidential Transition Committee, after which he served as Special Adviser on Monetary Policy before his appointment as minister.

He noted that the administration assumed office amid significant economic challenges but has since pursued a series of reforms aimed at stabilising the economy and promoting sustainable growth.

According to him, “We have worked collectively across government to advance critical reforms that stabilised the macroeconomic environment, strengthened fiscal sustainability, and laid the foundation for inclusive and long-term growth.”

Edun highlighted improvements in key economic indicators during his tenure, stating that growth increased from about 2 percent to over 4 percent. He also pointed to a decline in inflation from 35 percent to 15 percent, attributing the progress to coordinated policy actions and renewed investor confidence.

He credited these achievements to collaborative efforts involving the Federal Executive Council, state governments, and partners in both the public and private sectors.

“I am proud of what we achieved alongside colleagues in government and our partners,” he said, adding that economic reform is an ongoing process rather than a one-time effort.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Nigeria’s development beyond his tenure, describing his time in office as both demanding and fulfilling.
