Fans React As Tems Labels Non-Friendly Partners ‘Danger Signs’ In Love Life
Nigerian Grammy-winning star, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has opened up about the biggest red flags she watches out for in relationships.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
During a recent interview with U.S. media platform Complex, the “Love Me Jeje” singer said she cannot consider a romantic relationship with someone who lacks curiosity or the willingness to build a genuine friendship.
Tems explained that the foundation of any real relationship is friendship and a desire to truly know one another — without that, love has no meaning.
“I’m a lover girl, but I’m more cautious now because of past experiences,” she shared.
“My dating terms are simple — if someone isn’t trying to be your friend, that’s a red flag. Anyone who isn’t curious about you is a major red flag. Like, what are we doing here if you don’t want to know me? If they aren’t interested in learning more about you, just end it.”
In a separate conversation with fans on X, Tems expressed gratitude for how far she has come in her career, admitting she has already surpassed her earlier dreams.
She reflected on her rise to stardom — from quitting her digital marketing job in 2018 to releasing her debut single “Mr Rebel” the same year. Her global breakthrough came in 2020 with her feature on Wizkid’s smash hit Essence, which later got a Justin Bieber remix and peaked at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100.
Responding to a fan who asked if she had already accomplished her pre-fame goals, Tems said:
“I’m looking forward to whatever God has planned. Honestly, I’ve achieved beyond my dreams from when I had a 9–5.”
