Fresh Drama In Peoples Democratic Party As Party Reacts To Supreme Court Ruling
A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party aligned with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has expressed optimism that the Supreme Court will ultimately rule in its favour in the party’s ongoing leadership dispute.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The position was conveyed in a statement issued Wednesday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, following the latest development at the apex court.
The reaction comes after the Supreme Court reserved judgment in an appeal filed by the PDP over its nullified convention held in Ibadan, Oyo State, in November 2025.
A five-member panel led by Justice Mohammed Garba announced that the date for judgment would be communicated to counsel representing the parties.
Responding to the development, Ememobong urged party supporters to remain calm and hopeful as they await the court’s decision.
He reiterated confidence in the judiciary, describing the Supreme Court as the last hope of ordinary Nigerians and expressing belief that the court would deliver a judgment that protects multi-party democracy and prevents the emergence of a one-party system.
According to the statement, all parties adopted their respective processes before the court reserved judgment.
Ememobong called on loyal PDP members to keep faith in the judicial process, insisting the apex court has historically stood firm, even under pressure, in defending Nigeria’s democratic principles.
