Fresh Political Twist As Abia Lawmaker Addresses Otti Vs Tinubu Second-Term Controversy

Onwusibe made the remark on Sunday during the flag-off ceremony of the “Project Switch On Bende” held at Lohum Umuimenyi in Bende Local Government Area. The project was facilitated by the Abia State Chief Liaison Officer in Abuja, Chief Frank Chinasa.

The lawmaker said both Tinubu and Otti have performed well enough in office to deserve re-election.

He stated: “What I have said about Mr President is my personal opinion, and I can tell you the governor will not oppose Mr President’s second term bid, and it’s the governor in Abia State here that has the capacity to deliver Mr President.”

Highlighting his political background, Onwusibe added that his long experience in public service across different administrations gives weight to his assessment that Governor Otti has outperformed his predecessors and deserves a second term.

He also commended Chinasa for facilitating the solar-powered street light project and expressed optimism that more development projects would follow if given broader political support.

In his remarks, Chinasa explained that the initiative is aimed at restoring public confidence in governance and improving security across communities.

He disclosed that about 486 solar-powered street lights have been installed in Uzuakoli and Umuimenyi Ward within a few months, noting that the project is part of efforts to bring development closer to the people.

According to him, the initiative aligns with Governor Otti’s development agenda and is supported under the Niger Delta Development Commission’s “Operation Light Up the Niger Delta” programme.

Community leaders and stakeholders, including the Mayor of Bende Local Government Area, Uwabunkeonye Bassey, and event chairman Johnson Chukwu, praised Chinasa for attracting the project to the area and urged continued efforts to improve grassroots development.
