Fubara’s Impeachment? Gov’s Aide Slams Claims: ‘It Will Fail, There’s No Truth

Darlington Orji, Special Adviser to Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, has said that the ongoing impeachment attempt against the Governor is unlikely to succeed.

Speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show, Orji dismissed the allegations, insisting there is no truth to the claims raised by the State House of Assembly.

He noted that only the Assembly has the authority to determine any misconduct or alleged financial misappropriation by the Governor.

“I can tell you confidently that this process will not succeed because there is no truth in it,” Orji said. “As you mentioned, it is only the Assembly that can interpret cases of misappropriation or gross misconduct.

“Moreover, many courts have previously dismissed impeachment attempts that did not follow proper procedures.

“From our side, I can say this with certainty—I am not a member of the House, but I’ve reached out to many of them, who are also my friends, and we’ve worked closely before. They are not pleased with what is happening, and I am confident that by the end of this week, the process will be completely put to rest.”
