Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor, popularly known as Mama G, has opened up about her early marriage and the challenges she encountered as a young bride.

She revealed that she got married at the age of 19, a period when she felt unprepared for the responsibilities that came with marriage.

In an interview with media personality Isbae U, she described those early years as difficult, but noted that her children eventually became a source of joy and purpose in her life.

Mama G also reflected on how life does not always unfold as planned, explaining that people can sometimes find meaning in experiences that were once painful.

She said her perspective has evolved over the years, adding that focusing on the positive aspects of her journey helped her find fulfillment.

The actress expressed gratitude for her present life, emphasizing the important role her children and family play in her happiness.

She said: “I was forced into marriage at 19. I wasn’t happy then, but when I look at my children now, that unhappiness feels like it has been replaced. Life doesn’t always go as planned, and sometimes people find meaning in what was once painful. Over time, my perspective changed as I began to focus on the positive parts of my journey. Although I went through difficult times early on, I am grateful for where I am today.”
