I Made Over ₦10 Million Monthly Selling Akara And Bread — Governor Umo Eno Reveals

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has revealed that he once earned millions of naira monthly from a small-scale business involving the sale of Akara and bread.

The governor shared the story on Wednesday, September 2, during the state’s monthly covenant prayer service, recalling how he transformed the modest food business into a profitable venture.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Eno said he started by selling Akara and bread before introducing a product he described as “Akara Burger,” in which fried Akara was placed inside bread for customers.

He explained that the business attracted workers and commuters, particularly people heading to ExxonMobil in the mornings, prompting him to expand the venture by adding coffee sales.

Eno claimed that the Akara business eventually became highly profitable, generating no less than ₦10 million in monthly revenue at the time.

The governor’s account comes shortly after First Lady Oluremi Tinubu encouraged Nigerians to explore small-scale businesses, including Akara and KuliKuli production, as potential avenues for improving their financial circumstances.

Eno’s revelation has since generated reactions online, with many social media users discussing the earning potential of small businesses and the governor’s experience before entering public office.

His account has also renewed conversations about entrepreneurship and the ability of seemingly modest businesses to generate significant income when properly managed.
