Speaking on Channels Television, Tambuwal also addressed his ongoing encounter with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which he described as politically motivated.
“I am fully engaged in a lawful, democratic process that, by God’s grace, will see this government leave office. With God’s help and the support of Nigerians, we will ensure a change of leadership,” he said.
The former governor, now a leading figure in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), noted that the ruling party is uneasy about his activities and growing influence. When asked directly if the EFCC case was politically driven, he confirmed, “Yes,” adding, “Those who are concerned are worried about my activities.”
On reports of northern leaders conspiring against the Tinubu administration, Tambuwal was categorical: “I am not among some people in the North coming together to say that Tinubu must go.”
However, he acknowledged the widespread dissatisfaction with the current government, saying, “It’s true that Nigerians are not happy.” He reiterated that his focus is on building a national coalition to achieve a change in leadership through constitutional and democratic means, adding, “I’m involved in the national coalition that seeks a change of guard in Aso Rock via a constitutional democratic process on May 29.”
