I Won’t Be Silenced!” – Portable Reacts Furiously To Blacklist Allegations

The reaction followed claims by influencer Tunde Perry, who alleged he attended a meeting where leading music executives decided to blacklist Portable over alleged misconduct.

According to Perry, Portable’s behaviour within the industry not only led to his exclusion but also discouraged established artistes and executives from supporting emerging talents. He further claimed that Olamide has become hesitant about mentoring new acts after his experience with Portable, who reportedly criticised him despite receiving support on his breakout hit, Zazu Zeh.

In response, Portable took to social media in a video, where he criticised Perry, Olamide, and the executives said to be behind the alleged move. He insisted that he does not rely on any industry gatekeepers to thrive in the music scene.

The singer maintained that his fan base is sufficient for his success and asserted that he holds significant influence in the industry, regardless of any blacklist claims.

“I am bigger than them. Who are those that want to blacklist me? I heard Tunde Perry said Olamide and some executives called for it. Are you my fans or my God? Are you the ones feeding me?” he said.

“I have my own supporters. Anyone who truly wants to help you won’t use it against you. Don’t hold past assistance over my head. Many people have helped me without stressing me. Why would anyone say my songs shouldn’t be played again? Olamide, don’t mess with me. If you do, I’ll respond with the same energy. Stay in your lane.”
