The grand finale, held on Sunday, saw Imisi crowned winner of the reality show and walking away with the ₦150 million grand prize.
Following the outcome, Ossai Ovie Success, an aide to Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, alleged on that the organisers rigged the show to prevent another Delta contestant from winning, after last season’s champion, Kellyrae, hailed from the same state. He claimed Dede was “robbed” of her victory and even threatened legal action, insisting the votes were manipulated.
Reacting at the prize presentation ceremony on Tuesday at MultiChoice Nigeria’s Lagos office, Dede rejected the claims and congratulated Imisi.
“I don’t think it has anything to do with region. It’s about votes—she got the highest votes, and she won. So, she deserves it,” she said.
Dede, however, made it clear she is already looking beyond the controversy, revealing plans to build a career in entertainment, especially in acting and other aspects of the creative industry.
“Everything amazing, everything we don’t know, everything we’ve never seen—that’s what I’m bringing,” she added.
