Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has sparked widespread reactions after sharing a live video in which he called on the Federal Government to take action against pastors who claim to perform miracles.

He proposed that a law should be introduced to prevent individuals from making or carrying out miracle claims without verifiable proof.

According to Kuti, anyone who asserts they can perform miracles should face consequences unless they can provide clear evidence under proper medical supervision.

He suggested that such claims should be tested at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), where they can be scientifically verified rather than relying on testimonies from churches or online platforms.

The singer further argued that individuals making such claims should be able to demonstrate them repeatedly in the presence of medical professionals.

Using an example, he stated that claims such as restoring sight must involve cases that can be medically confirmed, rather than situations that cannot be objectively proven.

Kuti added that anyone who fails to substantiate such claims should be held accountable, emphasizing the need for strict penalties to deter what he described as misleading practices.

In his view, enforcing such measures would help protect the public from deception and ensure greater accountability.
