Nollywood actress and filmmaker Etinosa Idemudia has joined the ongoing conversation surrounding rape allegations, calling for firm consequences for individuals who make false claims.

The mother of one shared her views on Instagram on Thursday, stressing that boys deserve the same level of protection as girls. She maintained that false accusations can have devastating effects on lives and reputations, and argued that anyone who deliberately fabricates such claims should face imprisonment.

In her post, she wrote: “The boy child needs protection just as much as the girl child. End false allegations today! I recommend jail time for false accusers.”

Her remarks come amid the controversy involving TikToker Mirabel, who recently attracted widespread attention after alleging she was raped in her apartment in Ogijo, Ogun State. The accusation triggered public outrage and calls for justice before she later retracted the claim, admitting that aspects of her story were untrue.

The Ogun State Police Command has continued its investigation and indicated that legal steps may be taken once her medical treatment is concluded.

Also reacting to the situation, Nigerian disc jockey Dorcas Fapson, popularly known as Ms DSF, said she had initial doubts about the allegation. She suggested the TikToker might be dealing with mental health issues that require careful and professional attention.
