The Federal High Court in Abuja had affirmed Abure’s removal as National Chairman and directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to acknowledge the Nenadi Usman-led National Caretaker Committee as the lawful leadership of LP.
In response, Governor Otti urged Abure to “sheath his sword” and turn over a new leaf. He assured that the Abure faction would be forgiven and reintegrated into the party if they embraced lawfulness and adhered to regulations.
Speaking through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, Otti described the court ruling as sound and expressed gratitude to supporters of democracy who stood by the Labour Party during challenging times.
He further called on those responsible for the party’s protracted litigations to respect the judgment, noting that it aligns with a prior Supreme Court ruling.
Otti also encouraged the national leadership of the Labour Party to use the court victory as an opportunity to restructure the party, promoting peace, unity, and justice in accordance with its constitution and core principles.
