Legendary Actor Pete Edochie Reveals Sh*cking ₦40,000 Daily Power Expenses

Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has disclosed that he spends roughly ₦40,000 daily to keep his home powered due to Nigeria’s unreliable electricity supply.

The 78-year-old star shared this during an interview on Africa Independent Television, highlighting the daily struggles Nigerians face because of unstable power.

According to Edochie, the high cost comes from relying on multiple sources to meet his household’s electricity needs. About ₦10,000 is spent each day on electricity units from the distribution company. Additionally, he pays ₦20,000 for diesel to run one generator and another ₦10,000 for petrol to operate a second generator, bringing his total daily electricity expenditure to ₦40,000.

Edochie admitted that the situation deeply worries him, especially knowing that many Nigerians endure similar challenges. He also expressed frustration that political leaders seem more focused on power than on addressing the everyday hardships of ordinary citizens.

“It disturbs me a big deal. Then I listen to people who are only interested in getting into politics and enjoying power. Nobody seems to be bothered about what’s happening to the common man,” he said.
