Major Shake-Up: IGP Redeploys 56 Police Officers Across Nigeria (Full List Revealed)

The Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, has approved the redeployment of several senior officers from the Police Monitoring Unit in Abuja to different commands across the country.

This was contained in an internal memo dated April 11, 2026, issued from the Force Headquarters in Abuja and signed by Bode Akinbamilowo on behalf of the IGP.

According to the document, 56 Supernumerary Police Officers have been withdrawn from the Monitoring Unit and reassigned to various locations nationwide.

The directive was sent to top police authorities, including Deputy Inspectors-General, Assistant Inspectors-General, Commissioners of Police, as well as heads of formations and training institutions.

The affected officers, ranging from Chief Superintendents of Police to Assistant Superintendents of Police, have been posted to commands such as the Federal Capital Territory, Lagos, Rivers, Kogi, Nasarawa, Niger, and Benue states.

Several officers listed in the redeployment include CSP Oki Ilaye Phelim, CSP Onya C. Agha, CSP Mohammed Abdulkareem, CSP Oriarewo Emmanuel, CSP Broadrick B. Obah, CSP Chime Chukwunonso, SP Isiaka Obisesan, SP Abigail Patrick, SP Ogwu Gloria Ile, SP Payi Kenny, SP Sunday Charles A, SP Edwin A. Thomas, SP Ikheovha T. Sandra, and SP Apialulu E. Gracious, among others.

Others named in the list include DSP Imoh Dominic, DSP Nwadike Darlington, DSP Gonjing Danlami, DSP Francis Ogbonye, ASP Gado Sabo, ASP Izang Adisha, ASP Yakubu Dauda, ASP Dan-Musa Zakari, ASP Kelvin John, ASP Duniya Shehu, ASP Uloko Sunday, ASP Jacob Usen Udofot, ASP Abdulhameed Aliyu, ASP Victor Ujah, ASP Muhammad Bello, ASP Ugwu Silas, ASP Abu Sikiru, ASP Bernard Friday, ASP Atama Francis, and ASP Hassan James.

Additional officers affected include ASP Ayodeji Olowe, ASP Patrick Danjuma, ASP James Alexander, ASP Peter Budu Christopher, ASP Abayomi Shode, ASP Iliya Zaphanah, ASP Bitrus Chindo, ASP Dauda Musa, ASP Agwu Elogbo, ASP Mary Clement, ASP Ejeh Paul Victor, ASP Obi Stanley, ASP Mangkwaw Kingsley, ASP Friday Bernard, ASP Ogunleti Adewale, ASP Tonatufe Jaule, ASP Ojo Lawrence, ASP Olujumoke Micheal, ASP Odion Oifoghe, ASP Uchendu Blessing, and ASP Esther Ezra.

The IGP also warned that any officer who attempts to influence their posting by lobbying would face strict disciplinary measures.

The memo further instructed all relevant departments and commands to ensure the immediate release of the affected officers so they can resume duties at their new assignments without delay.
