The Federal Government, States, and Local Government Areas shared a total of ₦2.001 trillion as revenue from the Federation Account for July 2025.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The disbursement was finalized at the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting in Abuja and announced in a communiqué issued on Friday by Bawa Mokwa, spokesperson for the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation.

Allocation Breakdown

Out of the ₦2.001 trillion distributable revenue:

  • Federal Government received ₦735.081 billion

  • State governments got ₦660.349 billion

  • 774 local government councils shared ₦485.039 billion

  • Oil-producing states earned an additional ₦120.359 billion as 13% derivation revenue.

FAAC noted that the July allocation was drawn from four major sources:

  • Statutory revenue – ₦1.282 trillion

  • Value Added Tax (VAT) – ₦640.610 billion

  • Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) – ₦37.601 billion

  • Exchange difference – ₦39.745 billion

    • FG: ₦613.805 billion

    • States: ₦311.330 billion

    • LGAs: ₦240.023 billion

    • FG: ₦96.092 billion

    • States: ₦320.305 billion

    • LGAs: ₦224.214 billion

  • From EMTL (₦37.601 billion):

Revenue Trends

According to FAAC, gross statutory revenue in July stood at ₦3.070 trillion, a decline of ₦415.108 billion compared to ₦3.485 trillion in June.

However, VAT collections improved slightly, rising from ₦678.165 billion in June to ₦687.940 billion in July.

The communiqué further revealed that revenues from Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT), Oil and Gas Royalty, EMTL, and Excise Duty recorded notable growth, while receipts from Companies Income Tax (CIT) and Common External Tariff (CET) levies decreased.
