Mohbad’s Partner Accepts DNA Test To Confirm Child’s Paternity

PUNCH Metro reported that Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, filed a lawsuit requesting a DNA test for his grandson. The legal team for Joseph sought permission to serve Wunmi through her last known address after initial attempts to reach her failed.

During a court session on July 9, 2024, in Ikorodu, Lagos State, the magistrate encouraged both parties to pursue alternative dispute resolution, but negotiations did not lead to an agreement.

In a statement obtained by PUNCH Metro, Monisola Odumosu, a representative of Joseph’s legal team, confirmed that Wunmi had agreed to the DNA test as part of the settlement terms negotiated by both sides.

Odumosu reported that Emmanuel Oroko, representing Joseph, informed the court that an out-of-court settlement had been reached and that the terms had been filed and served to Wunmi’s lawyers. Wunmi’s attorney, Kabir Akingbolu, acknowledged this, and the court officially adopted the settlement terms.

The settlement stipulates that the DNA test will be conducted at an accredited medical facility, either within Lagos State or another mutually agreed location. Furthermore, Joseph Aloba has agreed to cover all costs associated with the DNA testing process, including fees for the testing facility and related expenses.
