Yilwatda made the disclosure while speaking on TVC Sunday Politics, highlighting the party’s growing appeal among young Nigerians and its ongoing efforts to expand membership.

According to him, internal party data shows that youths make up 49.8% of registered members.

“About 49.8% of our members, as of yesterday, are between the ages of 18 and 35. Our party is youthful. Unlike before, when we were misled to believe that most youths were backing certain individuals, we have now shown that the majority of young Nigerians support the APC,” he said.

He added that the party’s structure and programs are increasingly attracting young people eager to participate in governance and political processes.

Yilwatda also emphasized the APC’s goal of significantly increasing its membership, aiming for 20 million members across the country.

“Through our ongoing electronic registration exercise, we are already approaching 12 million members, bringing us closer to our 20 million target,” he said.

The APC chairman expressed confidence that the initiative would strengthen the party’s grassroots presence and consolidate support ahead of upcoming elections.
