Oshiomhole said, “Rotimi Amaechi is about the most terrible. Look at the language he uses. This is someone who shut down the Rivers judiciary because he wanted to appoint his personal favourite as Chief Judge. When he didn’t get his way, the judiciary remained closed for almost two years.”

He also criticised Amaechi’s performance as Minister of Transportation, accusing him of mismanaging the railway sector throughout his eight-year tenure.

According to him, “Look at the crisis in the railway system that he oversaw for eight continuous years. He never got his priorities right and kept playing to the gallery. Instead of building rail lines to Kano or even Port Harcourt, his home state, he preferred to construct a railway to Niger Republic.”

Questioning the reasoning behind that decision, he asked, “What goods are we even exporting to Niger Republic?”

Oshiomhole added that former President Muhammadu Buhari gave all his ministers full autonomy, insisting that Amaechi had no excuse for his performance.

“If you were a minister under Buhari, you must admit—whether you like him or not—that he gave every appointee free rein to do the job assigned to them. That is the kind of leader Buhari was.”
