NYSC DG Announces When Corps Members Will Get ₦77,000 Allowance – Here’s The Date

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has announced that the Federal Government has approved an increase in corps members’ monthly allowance to ₦77,000, with payments scheduled to begin in February 2025.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

He also revealed that corps members will no longer be assigned to areas facing security threats.

Speaking to the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II corps members in Katsina, Ahmed emphasized that their welfare and safety remain a top priority.

The NYSC DG confirmed that the approved allowance has been included in the 2025 Federal Government budget, and once passed, corps members will start receiving the enhanced payment.

He stated, “We will no longer post our corps members to areas with security challenges. Wherever they are sent, it will be to locations deemed safe for them to serve.”

Ahmed further added, “Although January has ended, the new ₦77,000 allowance will be paid from February, replacing the previous ₦33,000.”

The NYSC DG assured the corps members that the Federal Government’s gesture would be reciprocated by their commitment during their service year, and emphasized that they would only be deployed to secure areas.
