“I earn ₦14 million for everything each month. This amount covers all expenses, including overhead and staff salaries,” Kalu explained. He emphasized that this sum is inadequate to meet his expenses, such as traveling to his constituency and maintaining his constituency office.

Addressing claims about lawmakers receiving luxury official vehicles, Kalu clarified that Senators do not receive personal cars. Instead, only committees within the National Assembly are allocated vehicles for official use. “I’m in the Senate, and I hear many misconceptions about us. Most of what is said is simply not true. Committees receive vehicles, but no individual lawmaker is provided a vehicle,” he stated.
