Otti Fires Back: ‘I Am Waiting’ – Dares Ex-Abia Governors Over Lawsuit Threat

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has dismissed threats from three former governors—Orji Uzor Kalu, Theodore Orji, and Okezie Ikpeazu—who said they would take him to court over his decision to run state affairs from his private residence in Isiala Ngwa South LGA.

Speaking to reporters while addressing the issue, Governor Otti stated that his legal team is fully prepared to handle any lawsuit that may arise.

He argued that he has committed no wrongdoing by choosing to work from home, noting that the Umuahia Government House is currently undergoing reconstruction.

Otti explained that his continued operation from his personal residence in Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South LGA, instead of the state capital, Umuahia, is due to the poor condition of the Government House facilities.

“Someone said they will sue me for not operating from the Government House in Umuahia. Well, I am waiting for the suit. My lawyers are ready,” he said.

“I have reviewed the Constitution, and I did not see any provision that requires me to operate from a specific location,” Otti added.

The governor emphasized that the people of Abia are more concerned with the development of the state than with where he conducts official duties.

He also expressed surprise that one of the former governors launched a verbal attack on his administration from distant Ebonyi State, prompting responses from Abia State government media personnel.
