Oyo Guber: Adelabu Reveals Tinubu’s Message To Aspirants Ahead Of 2027 Elections

A governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Bayo Adelabu, has denied reports claiming that President Bola Tinubu and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, have endorsed any candidate ahead of the 2027 governorship election.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Adelabu made the clarification on Thursday while speaking to party members and supporters in Ibadan shortly after his return from Abuja.

The former Minister of Power described the claims of endorsement as false and urged party members to ignore such reports. According to him, the governorship race remains open to all interested aspirants.

He added that President Tinubu, due to his national responsibilities, cannot single out or back any individual ahead of the election. Adelabu noted that the President oversees the entire country and is focused on governance at the national level rather than endorsing candidates.

He also disclosed that Tinubu had advised APC stakeholders to either agree on a consensus candidate or conduct direct primaries if consensus is not possible.

On rumours suggesting that the Olubadan had endorsed a candidate, Adelabu dismissed them as baseless, stressing that the traditional ruler remains a father figure to all and does not engage in partisan politics.

Adelabu, who recently resigned as Minister of Power to pursue his governorship ambition, said his goal is to run an inclusive administration that prioritises all residents of Oyo State. He emphasised that his ambition is focused on the welfare of the people, including the poor, youths, women, and other vulnerable groups across the state.
